Spokane man accused of stealing over $1,000 from REI

SPOKANE, Wash. – A man made his first appearance in court on Thursday for allegedly stealing $1,300 in camping equipment from the Spokane REI.

Court documents state that Nathan Loveland walked into the REI and left with items he did not pay for on four occasions from late December to Feb. 26.

Over the course of those alleged thefts, he purportedly took two tents, a coat and several articles of winter clothing.

Loveland is currently in Spokane County Jail facing seven charges, including several unrelated controlled substance charges and theft charges related to items allegedly stolen from the downtown Nike store.
