Spokane City Council appoints new member

SPOKANE, Wash. – During Monday night’s meeting, Spokane City Council appointed a new member representing District Two, Position Two.

On Jan. 18, council members interviewed the five top candidates for the position. On Jan. 22, Barbara Liliana Navarrete Lorenzo was appointed the council’s newest member by a vote of 4-2.

“We’re excited to welcome Lili to Spokane City Council,” said Council President Betsy Wilkerson. “Her experience and dedication to the community will be invaluable. I am proud to know that my seat is being occupied by someone who retains the same vigor and dedication to District 2 and, primarily, East Central.
