KELLOGG, Idaho — Although winter sports can be an expensive hobby, Silver Mountain Resort in Kellogg has been named one of Forbes’ Best U.S. Ski Resorts For The Money!

Silver Mountain Resort was ranked as the fourth best ski resort for the money out of 51 other resorts in the United States!

Forbes Advisor compared the cost of a two day, two night winter vacation at popular resorts. They used a holiday weekend because people travel over those times.

They looked at 51 resorts based on the cost of lift tickets, rental equipment, airfare, accommodations and a car rental. They found that there were 10 ski resorts offering compelling value for the money!

Another interesting thing they found was that all 10 resorts can be found in western states!

Silver Mountain is said to “represents great value and markets in all-in-one vacation thanks to an indoor waterpark to contrast its 73 outdoor runs.”

Travelers heading to Silver Mountain can expect to pay about $432 for peak season airfare, though an affordable $254 for two-nights of overnight accommodations. Lift tickets and ski rentals are also on the affordable side and could cost even less if you’re a Powder Alliance member.

Another ski resort that ranked top 10 in our region is Mt. Baker Ski Area. They were ranked with a snow score of 84.5- the highest of resorts that was ranked. But, “airfare to Seattle will only set you back about $361, the third-cheapest in the country which helps drive costs down. Keep an eye on the cost of ski rentals, though: at about $102 per two days, you may prefer to bring your own.”
