SHOSHONE COUNTY, Idaho — Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office seized just over one pound of methamphetamine during a traffic stop near Smelterville.
On Dec. 18, Shoshone County deputies conducted a traffic stop in Smelterville near a Walmart. As deputies approached the vehicle they saw two occupants.
While talking to the occupants, deputies believed that there were signs of criminal activity, so they brought out a Shoshone County K9 to continue investigating. The dog quickly alerted the deputies of an odor coming from the vehicle.
As law enforcement searched inside, they found one pound of methamphetamine, a handgun and US currency.
At this time, the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office has not released charges or identities of the suspects.
