SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Two people were arrested for a shooting that happened at an underage party in Spokane Valley over the weekend.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called out on Saturday to a party and a shooting at an apartment complex on East Alki Road at around 5:10 a.m.
When deputies arrived, they noticed a smell of alcohol coming from the people at the party, all of whom were under 21.
The renter of the apartment, 18-year-old Brayden R. Robidoux, told deputies at first that he was inside when he heard a gunshot outside. The Sheriff’s Office says Robidoux was actually outside his apartment with several other people before the shot was fired.
Another man, 18-year-old Jakobie K. Jenkins, pulled out a pistol from his waistband. It went off and shot Jenkins in the leg. After the shot went off, several people ran away.
The Sheriff’s Office says Jenkins was taken to the hospital for a gunshot wound to his lower leg.
Deputies arrested Robidoux for making false statements to law enforcement and providing alcohol to minors. He was booked into Spokane County Jail, but released the following day after posting bond.
Jenkins was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm, aiming and discharging a dangerous weapon, reckless endangerment, and other charges. He was booked into jail after receiving treatment for the gunshot. Jenkins was released the following day after posting bond.
The Sheriff’s Office says this is an ongoing investigation, and more charges and arrests are possible.
