SPOKANE, Wash. — A weather alert has been issued throughout the Inland Northwest starting tonight for a series of storms bringing snow into our region.
From tonight until Saturday morning, there will be a series of storms moving in beginning Thursday. The heaviest snow will be focused on the mountains, which will affect mountain passes.
If you are traveling this weekend, keep an eye out specifically on Stevens Pass and Lookout Pass on Thursday and Friday night!
Heads up: Snow ❄️ is coming later this week. Pass travel will be very difficult with heavy snow. Low elevations will also see snow too (yes, you Spokane!). Expect winter driving conditions for the Friday morning commute. 👀 the higher snow amounts for the Cascades. #wawx #idwx pic.twitter.com/KTTj7qEt2f

As of now, there are early indications that there is a possibility of 1-2″ of snow in Spokane and 1-3″ in Coeur d’Alene by Friday. Then there may be another inch or two that accumulate on Saturday morning.
But the snow won’t last long as warm air will be blowing through our region Saturday turning the snow into rain for most of the valley.
This could change based on weather patterns, so to stay up to date check the National Weather Service Facebook, Twitter and website to see what conditions will be like in your area.
