SCRAPS and the Mutt Nation

SCRAPS has joined the Mutt Nation!

Country singer, Miranda Lambert is an animal advocate. In 2009 she began the MuttNation Foundation to help save the lives of shelter animals.  In every city that is on her tour, she selects a shelter and encourages fans to make donations.   The donation drives are called “Fill the Red Wagon,” after one of her biggest hits.

This Friday, Feb 2nd Miranda is stopping in Spokane to perform and has selected SCRAPS as her partner agency.  “What could be more fitting than having a ‘fill the red wagon donation drive in Spokane,” said Janet Dixon, the Special Programs Manager of SCRAPS.  “How many other cities have a giant red wagon?”

SCRAPS will be holding two special donation drives.  The first will be on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Red Wagon in Riverfront Park.  The public is encouraged to bring donations of dog and cat food, cat litter, toys and beds for the homeless and abandoned animals in Spokane.

On Friday, SCRAPS will be parked outside the front doors of the arena from noon until the concert starts accepting donations.  Monetary donations can also be made online anytime at www.scrapshopefoundation.org and click on donate.
