Salvation Army Spokane asks community for support to reach Red Kettle fundraiser goal

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Salvation Army is asking the community in Spokane and Stevens County to donate their Red Kettle fundraiser to help support vulnerable families and individuals this Christmas.

So far this season in Spokane, about $202,000 has been raised towards the Salvation Army’s $400,000 goal to continue providing for children and families facing difficult times. Some of these families and individuals include those devastated by the Gray and Oregon Road fire.

Programs and services, funded from Red Kettle donations, include foster care, transitional housing and shelters, a youth camp, a community center, a family resource center and food.

More than 192,000 children, women and men benefit from this program each year and need your help to reach their goal so they can continue helping the community.

If you are wanting to donate and help, there are multiple ways:

Head over to a Red Kettle to drop off cash or checks,Donating online to a virtual Red Kettle,or mail a check earmarked “For The Salvation Army Spokane Christmas campaign,” to: The Salvation Army, 222 E. Indiana Ave., Spokane, WA 99207.

If you want to volunteer as a bell ringer, there may be shifts available at a store near you. To sign up, visit the Salvation Army website and select a Red Kettle near you!
