BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A longtime public utilities regulator in North Dakota has joined the state’s race for its single seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. Republican Julie Fedorchak has been a member of the three-person Public Service Commission since 2013. She announced her congressional campaign on Thursday, looking to succeed Republican Rep. Kelly Armstrong, who is running for governor. Other candidates in the House race include former state lawmakers Rick Becker and Tom Campbell, both Republicans, and military veteran Trygve Hammer, a Democrat. Republicans will endorse a candidate for the House seat at the state party convention in April in Fargo, and voters will nominate candidates in the June primary election for November.
