Gov. Inslee to visit Walla Walla County on Feb. 16 to talk clean energy, fentanyl crisis

WALLA WALLA, Wash.-Governor Jay Inslee is scheduled to be in Walla Walla County on Friday, Feb. 16 for an agenda focused on clean energy and the fentanyl crisis.

Gov. Inslee will meet with Women of Wisdom Tri-Cities (WOW), Valley Transit Authority, the Walla Walla Fire Department and representatives from the Port of Walla Walla, according to a press release from the Governor’s Office.

In a roundtable with WOW and the Valley Transit Authority, Gov. Inslee will discuss expanding access to electric vehicles through recent grant funding that includes membership programs and charging stations in disadvantaged communities.

According to the Governor’s Office, Inslee is then scheduled to meet with Walla Walla firefighters to discuss their efforts in addressing the fentanyl crisis.

The Port of Walla Walla will then give a presentation on the progress of the Wallula Gap Business Park, including proposed clean energy projects.
