Post Falls Animal Shelter hosts free microchip and vaccination clinic on Oct. 14

POST FALLS, Idaho — The Post Falls Animal Shelter will be hosting a free microchip and vaccination clinic to help pet owners ensure the return of their pets if they ever go missing.

The shelter has partnered with Better Together Animal Alliance (BTAA) and Petco Love. This clinic will take place on Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Implanted microchips can serve as an important security measure to help ensure that a pet is returned home, even if a collar and tag are lost. Veterinarians, shelters and animal control professionals are able to scan these chips and track down each pet’s registered owner.

BTAA and Post Falls Animal Shelter will have trained staff and volunteers on-site to help pet owners register and facilitate pet vaccinations.

Petco Love’s new national vaccination initiative, is providing $1 million more free pet vaccines for family pets in need.

With these free services, BTAA will also have free cat and dog food available for those in need.

If you are planning on attending this event, these services are limited to the first 150 participants. Also, all dogs must be on a leash and all cats must be in carriers at all times.

For more information, call (208) 265-7297 ext. 100.
