Police respond to false bomb threat in Leavenworth Oct. 28

LEAVENWORTH, Wash. — Patrol Deputies responded to a bomb threat at the Rhein Haus Restaurant in Leavenworth, Washington on Saturday.

At 1:19 p.m. on Oct. 28, RiverCom received a text reporting that there was a pipe bomb in a backpack placed in the bathroom by the suspect, who was there with it as well. The suspect described himself as a male named “John” with blond hair wearing a blue shirt and black pants.

According to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies quickly cleared the area and searched for any evidence of a bomb.

No bomb, suspect, or backpack was located on the scene.

The IP address of the suspect came out of West Virginia. Beyond the initial threat, the situation was determined that the threat was not credible.

This is an ongoing investigation.
