Person killed in helicopter crash near Anaconda

ANACONDA, Mont. – A helicopter has crashed in Anaconda.

According to Chief Cody Tocher from the Anaconda Fire Department, one person involved in the crash is dead.

Anaconda-Deer Lodge Chief Executive Bill Everett tells NonStop Local that the crash scene is in an area with steep slopes and hills.

The helicopter crashed around 7:00 am Friday as it was doing restoration work in some areas only accessible by the air.

First responders are on scene, and the FAA is investigating.
