CASCADES, Wash. — The North Cascades Highway remains closed this morning. The Department of Transportation (DOT) closed the highway on Nov. 11 due to heavy snowfall and have kept it closed today due to the risk of snow slides.

❗️SR 20 North Cascades Highway will remain closed Monday, Nov. 13 due to risk of snow slides. There is some cold weather in the forecast that may help conditions settle and our avalanche team will reevaluate tomorrow (11/14). Thank you for your patience! 🏔️❄️

On Nov. 11 the Washington State Department of Transportation released that they saw as much as four to six inches of snow per hour and some small snow slides. An avalanche team is on scene evaluating the snow and road conditions.

The highway will be closed from milepost 134 to 171 between the Ross Dam trailhead to Silver Star gate.

DOT will reevaluate opening up the road today depending on snow and road conditions.
