New MultiCare Behavioral Health Clinic opens in Hillyard

SPOKANE, Wash. – A new MultiCare behavioral health clinic is opening up in north Spokane, offering services to adolescents and adults from the heart of the Hillyard neighborhood.

Operating out of the old Hillyard Library, the renovated facility will slowly grow to add more than 20 healthcare providers, offering individual and group outpatient therapy for the surrounding area. Virtual services will also be offered, with the aim of providing care to rural clients who often struggle to make the frequent trips often necessary for care.

Funded through donations and numerous other local organizations as well as through Spokane County and the City, the clinic will provide care to an area of Spokane which previously lacked access to critical mental and behavioral health services, despite a high need.

With 21 officers, a large classroom for skills learning, rooms for group therapy, and a virtual care space, MultiCare hopes to employ more than 20 staff members, including both licensed mental health therapists and psychiatrists and psychiatric advanced registered nurses to ensure a full range of care.

As their care team grows, MultiCare hopes to include treatment options for patience with co-occurring substance use, especially for adolescents.

Work on the clinic began earlier this spring and wrapped up in fall. A ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening is set for Wednesday, Oct. 3!
