NASA paying participants to live in Mars simulation

WASHINGTON D.C – NASA is currently seeking individuals to participate in a year-long Mars simulation.

The space agency has constructed 3D-printed living quarters to simulate conditions on the Red Planet, offering selected participants preparation and studies for a potential future human mission to Mars.

However, meeting the criteria for participation is no small feat.

NASA is specifically looking for U.S. citizens aged 30 to 55 who are proficient in English, non-smokers, hold a master’s degree in a STEM field, possess at least two years of professional STEM experience, completed two years of a doctoral program or hold a medical profession, and have a minimum of one thousand hours of piloting experience or military officer training.

While NASA has assured compensation for the yearlong commitment, the exact amount has not been disclosed.

This marks NASA’s second Mars living simulation, with the first mission currently underway and having surpassed the halfway mark.
