Mother, daughter killed in apparent murder-suicide in Spokane identified

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane County Medical Examiner has released that a 43-year-old woman with her eight and 10-year-old daughter died at their home in northwest Spokane after a potential murder-suicide.

Just before midnight on the night of Nov. 16, Spokane police were called to the 2600 block of west Woodside Avenue in Northwest Spokane. The caller was the husband who said he came home to find his wife and two children dead.

As officers arrived on scene they found three bodies which have been identified as 43-year-old Michelle Asker, her 10-year-old daughter and her eight-year-old daughter.

The cause of death for all three was due to a gunshot wound to the head. Michelle Asker’s manner of death was ruled a suicide, but both of her daughters’ manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Major Crimes Unit detectives are currently investigating this incident. Initial information indicated that this was a potential murder-suicide. The mother is said the be the suspected killer, SPD and Major Crimes Unit have no other suspects at this time.
