SPOKANE, Wash. – A Monday night SWAT investigation in Spokane’s East Central neighborhood ended with police safely recovering Amanda Pakootas, an indigenous woman who went missing in Airway Heights on Saturday.

The man suspected in Pakootas’ disappearance, 51-year-old Joseph Parisien, has not been located according to the Spokane Police Department (SPD) and is expected to be on foot.

An initial missing indigenous person alert was issued by Washington State Patrol on Saturday after Pakootas purportedly left a friend’s home unwillingly at around noon.

A silver 2013 Toyota 4Runner connected to Pakootas’ dissapearance was seen in Spokane earlier on Monday according to Washington State Patrol.

The SWAT investigation was conducted near South Nelson Street and East 4th Avenue according to SPD.
