SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — The Spokane County Medical Examiner has identified the man who died after a head-on collision at Bigelow Gulch Road Wednesday morning.

52-year-old Livian D. Baez-Gomez died from blunt force injuries to his head, torso and extremities and his death has been ruled as an accident.

On Jan. 24 around 5:30 a.m. Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a head-on collision between a Semi-truck and an Acura at Bigelow Gulch Road and Weile Avenue.

Three adults in the Acura were transported to Sacred Heart with serious, possibly life-threatening injuries and were listed in critical condition. Two occupants of the Semi were transported to the hospital with minor injuries to receive treatment and evaluation.

But despite medical personnel’s efforts, Livian Baez-Gomez succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Initial information indicates that a semi-truck was traveling west on Bigelow Gulch Road when it crossed over the centerline and collided with an Acura. Traffic Unit Investigators at the scene believe that speed and conditions could be a factor in this crash.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available. Check back for updates.
