LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. — Liberty Lake police officers arrested a man who allegedly attempted to lure a 13-year-old girl into his car Sunday afternoon.

On Nov. 12 around 3:30 p.m., officers were called to a report of a suspicious vehicle near the intersection of Liberty Lake Road and Sprague Avenue. As officers arrived on scene they talked to a father whose 13-year-old daughter was approached by a man in a white car.

The man, 59-year-old Larry Munyon, allegedly asked the girl to get inside his vehicle multiple times. After saying no, Munyon stopped his vehicle in front of the girl, blocking her path.

She was able to call her father for help. As he arrived, Munyon fled the area once he threatened to call law enforcement.

Subsequently in a different investigation, a FLOCK license plate recognition camera flagged the vehicle and was able to assist in the investigation.

The suspect, 59-year-old Larry Munyon was arrested and transported to the Spokane County Jail. He is currently charged for child luring.

This is an ongoing investigation. Information will be updated as we learn more.
