Lookout Pass’ Free Ski School postponed due to the lack of snow

MULLAN, Idaho – No snow means no winter, and no snow means no free ski school, at least for now.

Lookout Pass’ Free Ski School, originally scheduled to begin classes Saturday, Jan. 6, is postponed until Saturday, Jan. 13 due to the lack of snow.

“Do your snow dance,” Chris Nusz, Lookout Pass Free Ski School director, said.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Lookout has four of five chair lifts open with just 7 inches of snow at the base and 32 inches at the summit.

“There were a couple of years we weren’t sure if we would have enough snow to finish,” Tammy Nusz, the free ski school administrator said.

Free ski school has been around for over 80 years and within the past 21 years that Tammy Nusz has been a part of the program, they have never had to postpone classes.

If classes are rescheduled again, check back here for updates.
