SPOKANE, Wash. – As autumn continues along and colder temperatures creep in, it can feel awfully dreary outside. But here’s a reason to turn that frown upside down — the Numerica Skate Ribbon is scheduled to reopen for the 2023-24 season on Saturday, Nov. 18!

As an outdoor rink, air temperatures during the day need to be below 45 degrees Fahrenheit at least in order to maintain firm ice. If it’s too warm out, the equipment won’t be able to keep the ice from melting. So instead of letting your mood drop with the thermometer, lace up your skates and warm up on the ice!

Casual skaters can pay for 1-hour sessions each visit, while frequent gliders can opt for the Unlimited Ice Pass.

Prices for general admission are:

Adult (ages 13+): $9.95 per hourYouth (ages 3-12): $6.95 per hourAges 2 and under: FREE

Skate rental is $6.95 per visit, and helmets are offered free of charge.

The 2023-24 Unlimited Ice Pass comes with a number of additional perks, including admission to the preview night on Nov. 17 if you can’t wait one more day.

The prices for this season’s Unlimited Ice Passes are 15 percent off until Nov. 17!

Adult (ages 13+): $38.95 ($33.11 through Nov. 17)Youth (ages 3-12): $27.95 ($23.76 through Nov. 17)

If you don’t have your own skates, you can include skate rental for an additional $18.95 ($16.11 through Nov. 17)

In addition to an early preview of the ice, pass holders receive a 15 percent discount at Riverfront Gifts, four complimentary tickets for the Looff Carrousel, plus a single-use buddy pass with skate rental included, so you can take your hesitant friend out onto the ice and get them hooked on skating too!

Also opening in November is Coeur d’Alene On Ice, the outdoor rink in the heart of Coeur d’Alene. Tickets are on sale now for Nov. 3!

If you just can’t wait to practice your hockey stops and choctaws, you can always visit the indoor ice rinks in the area! Eagles Ice Arena in north Spokane, Frontier Ice Arena in Coeur d’Alene, and the URC Arena at the EWU rec center offer open ice times through the year, so you can keep your skills sharp during the off-season, too!
