Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office helps 22 families during their Holiday and Heroes event

KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho — The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office “Holidays and Heroes” event was a success and was able to help 22 families this year!

In years past, 22 families is the biggest one yet. Deputies had the pleasure to take children to the Walmart in Hayden and let them choose toys and gifts they’ve been wanting.

This event is held the first week of December each year. Police officers and firefighter volunteers work with businesses, civic groups and citizens in the area to help make some children’s Christmas a little brighter.

After shopping, volunteers along with law enforcement wrap these presents and prepare large food baskets for the children’s families!

Now that they have finished this year, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is already preparing for next year and is accepting donations! They are hoping to raise even more money to be able to bring smiles to more children’s faces.

If you would like to make a monetary donation to families next year, please reach out to Lt. Klinkefus or Lisa Roberts at (208) 446-1300.
