Kettle Falls Police arrest early learning center employee for inappropriate conduct

KETTLE FALLS, Wash.- Kettle Falls Police arrested Nathan Ford, an employee of the Kettle Falls School District, after he was allegedly seen kissing a kindergarten student on Feb. 8.

Ford was caught engaging in the inappropriate conduct by a fellow Early Learning Center employee. The worker notified the district, the man accused of misconduct was removed from the building and he was arrested. He is currently in police custody.

In a statement posted to social media, the school district apologized to parents.

“We are shocked and appalled by the actions of one of our employees. We are so sorry this happened,” the district said.

All employees of the district pass multiple background checks and take regular training modules to keep young people safe. Ford passed the aforementioned background checks.

The early learning center where he worked is now reviewing video footage to determine whether he engaged in similar behavior before the incident which led to his arrest.
