
SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga and Kentucky jointly announced the discontinuation of their six-game series. It started in 2022 and was set to continue for the next two seasons.
In a press release from Gonzaga, it says the decision was mutually agreed upon by both programs, “to allow each program freedom to reevaluate future scheduling priorities, including conference obligations and nonconference opportunities.”

This decision was in the best interest of both programs as the series was set to end with a home and home in Rupp Arena in 2026-27 and the McCarthey Athletic Center in 2027-28. The Wildcats and Bulldogs valued the opportunity to compete in a high-quality series over the past four seasons.The original six-game series was announced on Oct. 6, 2022. Gonzaga won the first matchup in the Spokane Arena on Nov. 20, 2022, 88-72. The Zags then won at Rupp Arena on Feb. 10, 2024, 89-85. Kentucky rallied for a 90-89 overtime victory in Seattle on Dec. 7, 2024. This past season, GU beat the Wildcats in Nashville, Tenn., on Dec. 5, 94-59.Additional information on Gonzaga’s 2026-27 schedule will be available at a later date.
