Innovia Foundation celebrates 50th anniversary with a year full of free, inclusive, family-friendly events!

SPOKANE, Wash. — To celebrate 50 years of community impact in North Idaho and Eastern Washington, Innovia will be hosting free, inclusive, family-friendly activities and experiences throughout the year!

The Innovia Foundation has announced their year-long “Celebrating Community” celebration to honor volunteers, citizens and organizations that have helped serve the community for 50 years.

Events hosted by Innovia throughout the year will take place in every county of their 20-country region, with details being released at the beginning of each month. The events you can expect include family movie days, local festivals, community events and much more.

“This is a momentous year for Innovia Foundation as we celebrate 50 years of partnership with the people and communities of Eastern Washington and North Idaho,” says Shelly O’Quinn, CEO of Innovia Foundation. “Since 1974, community has been the driving force behind everything we do. We look forward to gathering together to celebrate the people and places that make our region special.”

To kick-off their 50th anniversary celebration, on Jan. 27 all Riverfront Park attractions including Numerica Skate Ribbon, the Looff Carrousel and Mobius Discovery Center will be free to the community.

The Numerica Skate Ribbon will be open from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m, the Carrousel will run from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m and Mobius hours will be 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Also, on Jan. 27 at McEuen Park in Kootenai County, families and individuals can enjoy free skate admission and skate rentals from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. at Coeur d’Alene On Ice!

In addition to these Innovia-sponsored events, they have created an online calendar where individuals and organizations can submit information about celebrations and activities in their community. To submit an event it must be within the Foundation’s region that is free or low-cost, family-friendly and has a broad community appeal! Entries can be submitted on Innovia’s website.
