Indecent exposure charges dropped against Lewiston police captain

LEWISTON, Idaho – The charges against the former Lewiston Police Department captain accused of exposing himself in front of minors have been dropped.

On Aug. 19, Captain Richard Fuentes, 49, and three others were arrested after they were found swimming naked in a pool at the Quality Inn. When asked to put clothes on, the four allegedly refused.

Original court documents show a testimony from a 14-year-old girl who said she saw two of the individuals having sex.

Shortly after the incident, Fuentes was placed on administrative leave.

In a court ruling on Oct. 10, the court ruled to drop the charges of indecent exposure. This incident will now be handled as a civil case rather than a criminal case.
