COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – The Coeur d’Alene Police Department arrested one woman after a drug investigation turned into a standoff Wednesday night.

Around 8 p.m. Wednesday night police responded to 707 East Walnut Avenue with a search warrant connected to a drug investigation.

Kari Brouwer, 46, was inside the residence and was uncooperative with police as she barricaded herself inside.

Knowing Brouwer had a criminal history, SWAT was contacted to help remove her from the house. Shortly after SWAT arrived, Brouwer surrendered and was detained while police searched the house.

During the search, officers found large quantities of meth.

Brouwer was taken to Kootenai Health to be treated for minor injuries and will later be booked into Kootenai County Public Safety on three felony counts.
