Idaho State Police report over 200 fatal crashes over a year-long period

COEUR D’ ALENE, Idaho- A new report from Idaho State Police (ISP) collecting data from July 2022 through July 2023 shows that over 200 fatal crashes took place in the Gem State over that timeframe.

In addition to fatalities, there were over 1,000 serious crash-related injuries.

Drunk driving resulted in a litany of serious injuries and deaths. 1,700 crashes occurred due to impaired driving. Just under 100 of those crashes resulted in fatalities.

The data, which was shared by ISP on social media, also revealed that there were nearly 750 new additions to the sex offender registry.

ISP detailed enhanced training programs and new personnel which has contributed to their emergency response capacity in the past year and promised to continue working toward a high standard of public safety outcomes.
