Idaho road rage shooting on Valentine’s Day ends in arrests

ATHOL, Idaho. – Kootenai County Sheriff’s responded to a road rage incident that turned into a shooting the evening of Feb 14.

Carolina Silva, a 43-year-old, and Patrick J. Coffey, 47, were traveling in the area of Bunco Road and Pope Road when a road rage incident occurred.

According to deputies’ investigation, the road rage incident resulted in Silva exiting the vehicle and shooting multiple rounds at an occupied vehicle.

After fleeing the scene, Idaho State Police were able to locate the vehicle and suspects a short time later.

Silva was booked into Kootenai County Jail for aggravated assault and unlawful discharge of a firearm.

Coffey was booked into Kootenai County Jail for conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit a shooting.

It is unknown at this time the status or injuries of the victim.
