SPOKANE, Wash. – The American Road Zombies biker club was stopped outside of a Maverick gas station in Spokane while attempting to purchase girl scout cookies.

American Zombies, who totaled about 50 bikers during their attempted cookie run, are frustrated with Maverick and say that they were simply trying to support scouting in Spokane.

According to the group, they had received permission from the Maverick to gather several days beforehand.

Matt Cooper, a member of the biking club, says that they go to a local girl scout booth every year to purchase as many cookies as possible.

“They have a sales goal, we want to help them meet that. Oftentimes it’s for something awesome like going on a trip that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to do or funding [an] activity in their community,” Cooper said.

According to the bikers, they were stopped by armed guards when they attempted to approach the Maverick. They were unable to purchase girl scout cookies at that Maverick station.
