Grant County deputies crash into each other while responding to fatal crash in Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE, Wash. – One person is dead after being hit by a car near Moses Lake Thursday evening that caused two Grant County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) deputies to crash into each other.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened near SR17 and MCConihe Road. While two GCSO deputies were responding to this incident, they crashed into each other on SR17 and Northlake, sending one deputy to the hospital.

The pedestrian hit in the initial crash died from their injuries, according to GCSO. One deputy sustained minor injuries, and the other deputy involved in the collision is okay.

SR 17 is closed between Northlake Road and McConihe Road. You should avoid the area.

Both crashes remain under investigation.
