SPOKANE, Wash. — Colder temperatures are approaching and that means winter activities are approaching. The Numerica Skate Ribbon is scheduled to reopen for the 2023-24 season on Saturday, Nov. 18!

As an outdoor rink, air temperatures during the day need to be below 45 degrees Fahrenheit at least in order to maintain firm ice. If it’s too warm out, the equipment won’t be able to keep the ice from melting.

“The Numerica Skate Ribbon is a wonderful place to create memories with family and friends,” said Carla Cicero, Numerica Credit Union president and CEO. “Riverfront Park continues to be a special place to be, especially during the holiday season.”

As new addition this year, Riverfront will be offering private igloos to rent that will hold up to six people. Inside includes comfortable furnishings, a heater, rug and lighting. To rent one of these it will be $90 for 90 minutes and can be done online!

The rink opens Saturday morning, but there will be a preview night for Unlimited Ice Pass or Riverfront All-Access Annual Pass holders only on Friday from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. If you want to attend this event, go online to buy your unlimited ice pass so you can enjoy free skate rentals, hot cocoa and treats.
