Gear up for a wet and gusty Wednesday β˜”πŸƒ

Wednesday brings rain, gusty wind, and some risk for flooding in the Inland Northwest.

Plan Your Wednesday

Wednesday features widespread rain and a 10 to 20 percent chance of thunderstorms through Wednesday Morning. A Flood Watch is in effect for the Palouse as 0.5 to 0.75 inches of rain could cause urban and small stream flooding through Wednesday Evening.

Winds will gust between 35 and 50 mph along the Columbia River, prompting a Wind Advisory for many areas through Wednesday Night.

High temperatures will be 15 to 20 degrees cooler, staying in the 40s and 50s for most.

Expect the wettest weather for Spokane and Coeur d’Alene early this afternoon, followed by a sharp drop in rain chances. It will be drier and gusty around dinnertime while rain continues further south around the Palouse and LC Valley.

What We’re Tracking

Wind gusts remain elevated through Thursday Night. Light mountain snow is likely in North Idaho and Western Montana through tomorrow morning. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are possible on Thursday, mostly in North Idaho, as the back end of this system continues to hang around. Conditions fully dry out on Friday, but temperatures will stay cool through the weekend with highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s.
