SPOKANE, Wash. — Four suspects appeared in Spokane County Superior Court on Monday after getting arrested on accusations of kidnapping and brutally assaulting a woman in Spokane’s West Central neighborhood.

On March 22, Spokane Police Department (SPD) officers said they received a 911 call from a victim, who was screaming that she was being attacked at an apartment on the 1300 block of West Boone Street.

According to court documents, the victim was invited to Thomas Fetzer’s apartment by one of the defendants, Danielle Bednarcik.

Once inside, Fetzer locked the door and stood in the doorway. He accused the victim of trying to steal medications and then, according to the affidavit, instructed Bednarcik, David Nieman and Ashley Spencer to assault her.

Documents claim the victim was beaten for 20-30 minutes.

Assaults ranged from beatings, repeatedly choking the victim and half of her hair was forcibly shaved off.

When police finally arrived on the scene, they found the victim was only wearing a bra and pants, a significant amount blood was coming from her face and they saw her half-shaved head.

She suffered significant head injuries.

All four of the defendants– Fetzer, Bednarcik, Nieman and Spencer — were arrested and booked in the Spokane County Jail for First Degree Kidnapping and Second Degree Assault.

The victim was taken to MultiCare Deaconess Hospital. She is reportedly in stable yet serious condition.
