Former ISP trooper found guilty of second-degree murder

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho. — The former Idaho State Police (ISP) trooper accused of killing his wife in 2021 was found guilty of second-degree murder.

Daniel Howard was accused of killing Kendy Howard on Feb. 2, 2021. He was charged with the murder in April of 2023.

After weeks of trial, the jury reached a verdict and found Howard guilty of second-degree murder on March 19.

While out on bond, Howard was arrested at the Spokane International Airport where he claims he was returning a rental car with a friend.
