Family safe after house goes up in flames in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. – Three cats are on the loose after a fire broke out in a home near Chief Garry Park Wednesday evening.

The Spokane Fire Department (SFD) responded to reports of a fully engulfed house fire near the 1400 block of North Lee Street the evening of Nov. 1. Everyone made it out of the home, and no one was injured.

One person was treated for smoke inhalation but needed no further assistance. The family said they have three cats that have not been found.

SFD will remain on the scene as they continue to investigate the cause of the fire. It is unknown if the house will be salvageable.
