Fairchild Air Force base hosts Skyfest 2026 air show

FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. – Team Fairchild is preparing to welcome the Inland Northwest for Skyfest 2026 June 6th and 7th.

Base officials are encouraging attendees to plan their arrival early and consider public transportation to ensure a smooth experience during one of the region’s largest public events.

Gates for SkyFest 2026 will open to the public at 9 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Aerial performances are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and conclude at 3 p.m. Admission and parking for this event is free.

Fairchild officials are emphasizing the importance of early arrival.

“Our goal is to get every guest onto the flightline as safely and efficiently as possible,” said Maj. Karianne Ernisse, the SkyFest 2026 Air Show Director. “Because of the high volume of traffic and the security screenings required for every guest, we ask for the community’s patience and plan to arrive early.”

Because parking is a complex logistical operation on an active-duty installation, attendees are reminded that they may be parked a significant distance from flightline entry points. Golf cart shuttle services will be available between the accessible parking area to entry control gates.

To alleviate base traffic and parking challenges, the planning committee coordinated with the Spokane Transit Authority (STA) to provide shuttle services between STA Plaza, Airway Heights, and the base. Information on bus schedules and pickup locations.

“Utilizing the Spokane Transit Authority can be an efficient way to attend SkyFest,” said Ernisse. “It reduces the number of vehicles on the road and drops you off much closer to the action.”
