Euclid Road Bridge in Airway Heights set to reopen early!

AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — After four years of construction, the Euclid Road Bridge will be opening to the public on Nov. 29.

On Nov. 29 at 11 a.m., Spokane County Public Works will be holding a ribbon-cutting celebrating the opening!

The bridge was closed in 2019 after two critical failures were found in the bridge’s substructure. The county had set a five-ton limit and deemed the bridge “structurally unsafe.”

The bridge’s closure caused issues for families living nearby and added longer commute times for first responders.

As first responders head to a call, the Euclid Bridge routed crews through an alternate routes that could cause a delay up to five minutes.

This $3,652,000 project will now be safer and stronger than the previous wooden bridge that was built in 1980.
