WEST SENECA, NY. – A Mississippi organization called, Eight Days of Hope traveled to West Seneca, New York to help people in the community clear snow.

This group travels all around the country helping out families after natural disasters. They cover everything from wild fires to hurricanes. But, this week they are in western New York after a second round of lake effect snow.

For the next five days the organization will help families clear snow from driveways and roofs. They will also help clear out vents and furnaces.

President and founder Steve Tybor says snow removal is something they do often and are happy to do everything they can to help.

“how do you ignore the fact that people have 7 inches of snow- the single moms, the widows, elderly, maybe people who cant get out and even get to their mail box, what if they get sick and they need medicine. we are open for things that need to be done.” Tybor said.

Eight Days of Hope is still looking for more volunteers. They say they are looking for people to remove snow from the ground after rooftops are cleared. To register just click on this link.
