Eastern Washington to host Black History Month events

CHENEY, Wash. – Eastern Washington University (EWU) will host a series of Black History Month events called “Afropolitanism: Expressing Black Joy.”

The university is partnering with different departments and programs across to host these events.

The events will include West African and African-American dancing, artwork and sample foods from different regions of Africa.

EWU will also have opportunities to understand, learn and appreciate the cultural contributions of Eastern Black’s faculty and staff members, and other members of the Black community around the university.

Members of EWU’s Black Student Union will also be volunteering and sharing their perspectives, challenges and complexities in their lives.
