Eastbound I-90 near North Bend closed due to 30 spun-out semi-trucks

SNOQUALMIE, Wash. — Due to conditions on Snoqualmie Pass, all the eastbound lanes on I-90 near North Bend have been closed after 30 semi-trucks spun out on the roadway.

There has been over a foot of snow that has accumulated on Snoqualmie Pass. Crews are continuing to plow this road but drivers need to be extra cautious on the road as snow is continuing to fall.

According to WSDOT, this happened near North Bend at milepost 34. There were repots of poor visibility due to snow. Also, snow and ice have been compacted on the roadway.

There have been multiple collisions on the roadway and approximately 30 semi-trucks are disabled on the roadway. These trucks were not chained up at the time and were not able to gain traction on the roadway.

Washington State Patrol has released that traction tires are required, chains are required on vehicles over 10,000 gross vehicle weight and oversize vehicles are prohibited.

At this time there is no estimated time for Snoqualmie Pass to reopen.
