Traction tires or chains are often required for travelling over Washington’s mountain passes this time of year and Snoqualmie Pass is reminding drivers of the importance of making sure your chains fit.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a driver headed over Snoqualmie was recently ticketed for too small chains after trying to make them work with a USB cord.

Local mechanic offers advice on getting your car ready for winter

If you’re headed over the pass this holiday season the State Patrol and Department of Transportation encourage you to prepare your car, pack emergency supplies and practice putting your chains on before you go.
