Dog rescued from house fire in Stevens County

STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. – A dog was rescued from a house fire in Stevens County on Thursday.

According to Stevens County Fire District 1, no one was in the home when the fire was reported, but a dog was trapped in the house as smoke billowed from the structure.

In conjunction with Spokane firefighters, the team of emergency responders managed to get into the home and retrieve the dog.

The dog has recovered from smoke inhalation and is safe, as is the family who owned the home.

The fire reportedly started in the garage and was an accidental blaze.
