MOSCOW, Idaho – We’re all too familiar with long lines at the DMV. Its frustrating for many, but the Latah County DMV is trying combat long waits with an innovative idea. In fact, it’s a first in the State of Idaho.

The DMV is trying out a drive-thru option.

It recently purchased the old Wells Fargo Bank on Blaine St. in Moscow.

“So far it’s been kind of slow, because really knows it’s open, but they’re going to now,” Carla Bartlett, the DMV supervisor said.

Bartlett says customers were joking about the idea of opening the drive-thru so she said “why not give it a try!”

“They were like ‘yes, yes, and yes,’ because they’re all about innovation and making everything easier for the customers,” Bartlett said, referring to the Idaho Transportation Department.

“They’re excited about it. They think it’s a great idea,” David Sutherland, the Latah County Assessor said. “And I think it will be well received.”
