WALLA WALLA Wash. – A Walla Walla college is facing accusations of campus discrimination.
Whitman College is being investigated by the Department of Education.
An investigation was launched Dec. 8, the same day an investigation was opened for the University of Washington.
It was sparked by a filed complaints but those specifics do remain unknown right now.
Whitman College gave a statement to NonStop Local saying in part that “Whitman College is cooperating fully with the Office of Civil Rights by providing the information requested, and learning about the reported incidents.”

“Whitman College is cooperating fully with the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) by providing the information requested and learning about the reported incidents. We do not yet know the specifics of the allegations, and the OCR was clear that opening this investigation does not imply any finding of responsibility. We are committed to our ongoing work to combat antisemitism and bias of any kind, and welcome insights the OCR may bring to those efforts.”
