Defense in Moscow murders given access to investigative genetic genealogy material

MOSCOW, Idaho – The defense team in the case against University of Idaho murder suspect Bryan Kohberger has been granted access to relevant investigative genetic genealogy (IGG) material.

In a court appearance Wednesday, Kohberger’s public defense team was given limited access to IGG material relevant to the quadruple murder case.

The prosecution and defense engaged in an argument about setting a trial date, which was not decided upon during the hearing.

The defense argued that the trial should not begin until June 2025, and that the trial should not take place in Moscow due to the case’s high public visibility. Prosecutors contested both claims.

A hearing which will determine where the trial will take place was scheduled by Judge John Judge for Apr. 17.
