IDAHO — People caught with studded tires in Idaho will be fined starting next Tuesday.

According to the Idaho Department of Transportation, April 30 is the last day studded tires are allowed on Idaho roads. Studded tires include all snow tires with small metal cleats embedded in the tread. These metal cleats can damage the roads when they are dry and bare.

Those who do not remove their studded tires will face a $67 ticket.

Drivers in Washington had to remove their studded tires by March 31.
