SPOKANE, Wash. — With a string of vandalisms happening around Spokane, specifically towards LGBTQ+ communities, the City of Spokane will be hosting a “crosswalk to crosswalk walk against hate” tomorrow.

The city will be walking against hate following the recent and repeated vandalisms to the rainbow crosswalk, the Odyssey building in the Perry District and murals at Spokane Falls Boulevard.

On Oct. 12, the walk will begin at 12:50 p.m. on the edge of Grant Park at 10th Avenue and Perry Street with a few speeches. Then the walk will start at about 1 p.m. going through downtown.

The walk should only be about two or three miles long. City staff leaders will guide the group on the route.

If you are wanting to attend, wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for cooler weather conditions.

For more information about the event, you can go onto the Crosswalk to Crosswalk Walk Against Hate Facebook page.
