Body of reality TV star pulled from Okanogan River

OROVILLE, Wash. — The Okanogan county coroner’s office will determine what caused the death of reality TV star Matthew Brown.

A group of private volunteers pulled Brown’s body from the river near Oroville on Saturday, May 30.

Brown was a star on Discovery’s Alaskan Bush People from 2014 to 2019.

His brother, Solomon Brown confirmed the death on Instagram.

Brown was 42 years old.

On May, 27 the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office said a caller to 911 reported a man sitting in the shallow water of the river south of Oroville. The caller looked away from the man, heard a sound, looked back towards the man and saw him drift away in the current.

Law enforcement was not able to find the man but a gun was found in the area where the man was last seen.

Crews searched the river the next day but had to suspend the search due to severe weather.
